Ann Russell

Account Manager

Ann began her insurance career in Life & Health as an Employee Benefits Account Manager in 1998, in Sacramento, California. After relocating to Reno, Nevada in 2001, she switched gears to work in other industries, only to return to insurance working in Business Development at a Managing General Agency in 2017. While there, she obtained her P&C License and pursued her work as an Account Manager, handling Motorcycle Dealerships throughout the country. She continued her work as an Account Manager for a small, family-owned agency, servicing contractors. Ann takes pride in servicing clients with their insurance needs. When she is not working and servicing clients, Ann enjoys going on “foodie adventures,” trying new and unique cuisines. Ann has been married since 2002 and she enjoys spending time with her husband and their son.

Catherine Killian, ARM, CFNC

Program Administrator

Catherine began her insurance career in 1984. She joined InterWest Insurance in 1999. She has worked with insurance carriers and agencies in underwriting, operations, marketing, account management and risk management positions. Before her insurance career, she was involved with several manufacturing operations in production and inventory control. She has obtained her Associate in Business and her Associate in Risk Management. Catherine has an adult son that she enjoys visiting in Utah and has been married since 1983 to her husband, AJ. When Catherine is not servicing our client’s needs, she is active in her church community, she enjoys cooking, cycling, and golfing and she is an advocate for health as a Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor.

Cory Handley, CSP

Sr. Risk Control Consultant

Cory Handley joined InterWest Insurance Services in August 2013, as a Risk Control Consultant. He has over eight years of experience managing commercial construction projects across multiple industries including education, healthcare, technology, pharmaceutical, and museums. From working directly with subcontractors in the field to managing client relationships, Cory has successfully completed several multi-million dollar projects with zero loss time injuries. Cory grew up in Yreka, California (where he was raised by highly respected and responsible parents) and graduated from Yreka High School (where he left his mark as a leader in athletics). He attended Chico State University where he completed a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Construction Management and met his lifelong companion. Cory’s safety career began in 2005 and has been focused on improving employee’s quality of life through safe practices and behaviors. He feels this approach promotes a healthier, more accountable, and successful lifestyle in the workplace and at home. His practical approach to controlling losses aligns with simplifying processes, utilizing best practices, and integrating cutting edge technology. Cory is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). This highly respected certification is awarded to individuals who meet academic standards, satisfy professional safety experience requirements, and have passed two rigorous examinations. The examinations cover engineering and management aspects of safety, applied science, legal and regulatory matters, professional affairs, and other safety-related topics. Certified Safety Professionals specialize in protecting workers, the public, property, and the environment by identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazards. The CSP directs safety programs at a corporate level to reduce risk and loss. Cory is also a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).

Sarah Paine

Assistant Account Manager

Sarah began her insurance career in Seattle, Washington. She started in 2002 from the ground up, learning all facets of commercial lines account management. After 8 years in Seattle, she was wooed back to the Bay Area and resumed insurance work in 2014. She has worked as an office manager, commercial lines account manager, assistant account manager, and as underwriter in the Small Business marketplace. When not at work Sarah enjoys her garden, her cat, and spending time with friends and family.

Teri Greene, CISR, CRIS

Account Manager

Teri started her insurance career in the personal lines department August 2003 and transitioned to Commercial Insurance 2006. In December of 2015 she relocated to the Sacramento area from Fresno, CA. She joined the Commercial Lines Department at InterWest Insurance in our Sacramento office April 2017 as an Account Manager. She is very knowledgeable on various coverages and products specializing in the construction industry within the commercial lines arena. She is self-motivated, reliable and a dedicated individual who possesses strong verbal and written communication skills. Teri and her husband, Sid were married in 2010 and have a blended family of 5 grown children and 7 grandchildren. When not servicing her client’s needs, she is involved at her church Bayside Granite Bay, a sponsor/volunteer of Compassion International and she loves to watch college sports. They are fully involved in their grand-children’s school and sporting events.

Jordan Swanson, CAWC, CLCS

Commercial Insurance Broker

Jordan Swanson graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 2014 with a degree in Economics. While earning his degree, Jordan was a student-athlete, competing on the men’s golf team for each of his four years at the university. Immediately upon graduating, he began his career in the political world, as a researcher for a national political consulting firm. Jordan joined InterWest in 2015. He joined the InterWest team because of InterWest’s outstanding reputation in the industry. He was also interested in InterWest’s hands-on risk management approach, which fits with his desire to have meaningful, long term relationships with his clients. Jordan specializes in the construction industry and has been a member of InterWest’s ASDA (Asphalt Surface Development Association) team for several years. His client base also includes transportation and non-profit organizations. Jordan was born and raised in the Sacramento area. He currently resides in Sacramento with his wife, Sara, and son, Sutter. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and is an avid sports fan.

Greg Scoville

Vice President, Program Director

Greg Scoville joined one of InterWest’s predecessor organizations, Lindo, Hanna & Abbott, in 1989, to give them a presence in Sacramento. Greg began his insurance career over 45 years ago working in his father’s insurance agency. After college, Greg continued his insurance career as a Personal Lines Manager for two years. In 1984, he began his commercial lines focus with a national insurance firm, where he specialized in construction. Greg is primarily interested in developing long-term business relationships by facilitating and representing the needs of his clients as their broker. He predominately specializes in construction and manages ASDA Risk Solutions, a successful construction program on the west coast. Greg has lived in the Sacramento area most of his life but currently lives in Northern Nevada with his wife Louisa. He enjoys the adventures of the outdoor life, from hiking in the Sierra, to fishing and hunting. Greg and Louisa have five adult children and several grandchildren.
